Long Exposure Photography

Here I wanted to show you a quick behind the shot image of some long exposure photography I did over the weekend on Blackpool Beach.

My main intention was to head out to North Pier prior to sunset to photograph the Starlings that put on a display before roosting under the Pier. I knew the tide would be out to enable me to get into a position I had in mind. I walked under North Pier to the end, as I came out from under the pier I came across this striking looking branch that had been washed up. As mentioned in a previous blog post, you just never know what you are going to come across whilst out. I knew instantly it would make a great subject to photograph as a long exposure with the water coming up around its base.

Below you can see my setup and angle for the shot, I wanted the clouds and water smoothed out to really bring the focus on the branch. I had my Big Lee Stopper on and the resulting image is shown at the bottom.
